Staging &
Automated Configuration
As part of the normal
process, our “Automated and Computerised" system
ensures the correct hardware has been assembled in the
right position/slot. It will also check to ensure any
firmware or software revisions are correct before
commencing with the “Automated” configuration process.
When the entire
“Automated" configuration process has completed, the
unit is power-cycled (totally under computer control)
to ensure the final configuration works with the
hardware, firmware and software. This entire procedure
is described in our company literature and can be
demonstrated upon request.
Each port on the target
device can be tested to ensure it is fully operational
even if that port may be unprovisioned when installed
on-site. This has many distinct advantages to normal
staging and configuration services provided by other
staging and configuration companies. Testing of the
ports – be they provisioned or not will prevent
call-backs to the Service Centres/ Technical
Assistance Centres and avoid significant expense in
the replacement hardware at a later date.
The devices/units can be inter-connected within racks.
Rapid Deployment Solutions will ensure that the
cabling of such racks will be properly managed and
dressed and meets with the strict standards set down
by the industry.

Shipping and
Logistics

configured devices to a centralised facility or ship
configured devices to specific locations coordinated
with project schedule.
RDS have negotiated the
best possible rates with the leading courier companies
to ensure your network arrives safely and "On-Time".

Customs
Documentation
Import and Customs
documentation is essential for a smooth network
deployment into the countries throughout the world.
Delivered Duty Paid
Service
Rapid Deployment
Solutions also provide a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP)
service. We are the First and Only Staging and
Configuration company in the UK performing this
service for our customers, thereby removing all the
problems caused by the mountains of documentation
required, import duties and taxes as required by
different countries and local laws.
By providing this service, Rapid Deployment Solutions
are removing all of these problems for our customers.

Rapid Deployment
Solutions give you the flexibility to choose which
Deployment program best suits the needs of your
company and customers.
We also provide a range
of other services including:
Network Migrations
Clients who are
considering migrating or upgrading their network, may
wish to take advantage of the RDS Network Migration
service. RDS are able to take the configuration data
from your existing or legacy device and configure a
new replacement unit. If you are changing from one OEM
supplier to another OEM, RDS can provide a
configuration translation service and deliver a
brand new device or an entire network to your chosen
location/s.
Hot Sparing
As part of our new 2002 program, we now offer "Hot
Sparing". RDS are able to regenerate the original
configuration into replacement units and ship directly
to customer site upon request.
With the correct
hardware and all details of the device stored on our
system, customers may call and request a “Hot Spare”
for any site within their network. From the
information held, the unit is picked from stock,
physically built, configured, tested and shipped
directly to customer site.

Deployment
Project management.
As part of our service,
Rapid Deployment Solutions assign a Deployment Project
Co-Ordinator as our central Point Of Contact (POC) for
the duration of the project.
The Deployment Project
Co-Ordinator manages all RDS activities including
detailed system engineering work on the RDS
computerised deployment system, status reviews,
co-ordination and interfacing with our clients.
It is our standard
procedure to conduct a pre-project kick-off meeting
during which many deployment related issues will be
discussed to ensure a successful roll-out of your
technology. These meetings are key to establishing and
agreeing the requirements and expectations.

Building the
Hardware
Rapid Deployment
Solutions will physical build (insert modules, memory
etc) into the devices ensuring all ESD
precautions are properly observed. PAT trained
engineers ensure the correct hardware and options are
assembled to the client build requirements. This is
automatically checked again by the Deployment system
during the configuration process, thus ensuring the
device are deployed to your exact specification.

Documentation
As part of the service
provided by RDS, a number of different documentation
options are available. All documentation can be
customised if required to have the your logo on every
label or documentation sheet. Our documentation set
includes:
-
Device Configuration
Listing
-
Asset Labels (for all
devices)
-
Packing Lists
-
Delivery Address
Labelling
-
Shipping Labels
Addition and customised
documentation is available as required.
All Documentation is automatically stored on the
“Automated and Computerised" deployment system and is
only produced at the very end of the configuration
cycle. No documentation is produced if any step in the
computerised process fails to meet the required 100%
pass rate.
